Windy Ann (Edwards) Quintanilla

Windy Ann (Edwards) Quintanilla, daughter of William Edwards and Patricia (Mayall) Edwards, was born August 11, 1975 in Bakersfield, California. She spent most of her life in northern California.

On 12/12/2012 Windy was married to Gamaliel “Jose” Quintanilla in Auburn, Nebraska. They joined the New Life Church in Auburn, where Windy loved her church family and Jose donates all the grounds-keeping work.

Windy enjoyed drinking coffee in the mornings and telling funny stories. Her sense of humor was one of her greatest gifts. She loved to camp and fish, and to spend her Saturdays with her husband. Windy was always on the lookout for a deal, and she was good at finding them! She loved to cook, and learned to cook the authentic Mexican dishes that Jose loved. Every holiday meal included special treats for him.

Windy passed away in her sleep at her home in Auburn on Sunday, March 15, 2015. She had reached the age of 39 years, 7 months, and 4 days.

She leaves behind her beloved husband Jose; sons Larry Edwards of Lincoln, James Cates of Auburn, Robert Cates of Auburn; mother and step-father Patricia and Jessie Martin of Auburn; step-father Donnie Hughes, Sr. of Bakersfield, CA; 13 brothers and sisters; three grandchildren; and an uncountable number of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
