William "Bill" Mckee

December 8, 1946 — August 4, 2020

William Albert McKee, one of two sons of Carl Kaufmann and Jane (Fible) McKee, was born December 8, 1946 in Auburn, Nebraska. Bill attended school in Auburn and graduated from high school in 1965.

Shortly after graduation Bill took six months training in the U.S. Army that consisted of Basic Training and Clerk Typist School at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. He also served in the Nebraska National Guard.

Bill worked at WoodCarv Cabinets in Auburn, Morton House Kitchens in Nebraska City, Missouri Beef Packers, and the State of Nebraska Department of Roads Later he formed a partnership with his brother Mike doing yardwork and snow removal for the people of Auburn.

Bill was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and lived in his family home as long as he was able. He became a resident of Good Samaritan Society-Auburn on July 20, 2020. Bill passed away at Good Sam on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the age of 73 years, 7 months, and 27 days. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Jane and his brother Mike.

Bill is survived by a multitude of friends.

A graveside funeral service, officiated by Rev. Tom Osborne, was Friday, August 7, 2020 at Sheridan Cemetery at Auburn. Casket bearers were Bob Sailors, Johnny Curttright, Dave Moyer, Harold “Pete” Parker, Bob Engles, and Pat Engles. John Birdsley, Norman Moyer, Al Dalbec, Richard Burow, Robbie and Monica Baker were honorary bearers. Burial followed.
