Wiliam Green

William Joseph Green, one of three children of Mathias Edward and Mary Ellen (Loutzenhiser) Green, was born August 15, 1945 in Salem, Ohio. He graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown, Ohio.

Following his graduation from high school, Bill joined the United States Navy and attended Naval Submarine School. He spent 20 years in the Navy until his honorable discharge in 1983 as Chief Machinists Mate.

On June 21, 1975 Bill was united in marriage to Eddie Marie Lamm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.

After his discharge, Bill went to work as an instructor in nuclear operations at the Pilgrim Power Plant in Plymouth, Massachusetts. From there he was employed in the same position at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska. He retired from Cooper in 2006.

As a young man Bill achieved the status of Eagle Scout. While in Plymouth he became a member of the American Legion, and continued that membership after leaving. He enjoyed working on cars in his early years, and later in life liked to build model ships and cars.

Bill?s health had declined in recent years, and on Friday, September 3, 2010, he passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Auburn, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, son William, Jr. at the age of 14, and infant daughter Danielle Marie.

Bill is survived by his wife Eddie of Auburn; son James and wife Vicki Green of Emerson, NE; daughters Kelly Ann Junkins of New York; Kimberly M. Green and partner Jason Grodin of Concord, NH; grandsons Austin Green and Jonathan Grodin; sister Alex Vaughn of Salem, OH; brother John Green of North Carolina; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
