Wayne C. Simpson, age 82 of Peru, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 at his home in Peru. He was born May 4, 1927 in Peru, and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his sons Harlan Krause and wife Linda of Crystal, MN, John and wife Donna Simpson of Falls City, Randy and wife Cara Simpson of Fairbury, Shawn and wife Shawna Simpson of Basehor, KS, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sisters Ruth Simpson of Peru, Jess Benson of Omaha, brothers and sister-in-law Bill and Ronna Simpson of Humboldt, Herb Simpson of Raymond, sister-in-law Frances Simpson of Auburn, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside committal of ashes will be Wednesday, February 24, 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Peru. Graveside military honors provided by Peru VFW Post #7299. Following the burial of ashes there will be a brief service and luncheon at the Peru VFW building. No visitation is planned.
