Warren L. Wills, the youngest of three children of William “Bill” and Wilma (Payne) Wills, was born March 16, 1962 in Omaha, NE. He then grew up and attended grade school in Omaha and he graduated from Omaha Westside High School in 1980. Following high school, Warren attended a trade school where he was trained in operating heavy machinery and got his CDL.
On September 21, 1991 Warren was united in marriage to Brigit Barnett of Auburn, Nebraska at the Auburn Christian Church. They resided in Auburn where they would be blessed with three children: Breann, Jacob, and Lindsey.
Warren spent his career as an over the road truck driver for various companies throughout the years. No matter who he was driving for, being behind the wheel made him happy. He ended his career with N&W Transfer out of Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
When he was in town and able to, Warren attended the Auburn Christian Church. In his free time, he loved to be on the lake fishing or boating. If he wasn’t at the lake, he enjoyed spending his time golfing. He especially liked Kirkman’s Golf Course because he still got to enjoy the lake while golfing. If he had to be indoors, he could be found watching baseball. He was an avid lover of baseball and every year he looked forward to the College World Series. Warren also loved any chance he got to be in the mountains or on the beach. Mostly, he loved grilling out with his family and his son’s dog Diesel and he was proud of his recently acquired title of “Papa”.
Over the last two years of his life, Warren had been fighting Lymphoma. As part of his road to a cancer free life, he entered the University of Nebraska Medical Center on July 2, 2020 where he received a stem cell transplant. It was there he passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the age of 58 years, 4 months, and 9 days. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma (Payne) Wills, his brother Wendell Wills, mother-in-law Linda (King) Barnett, and brother-in-law Dwayne Barnett.
Those left to cherish his love include his wife Brigit of Auburn; children and spouses Breann and Matt Gulizia of Auburn; Jacob and Hannah Wills of Auburn; Lindsey Wills of Lincoln; grandchildren Brant, Crew, and Navy Gulizia, Ayla Wills, and two more on the way; father Bill Wills of Omaha; sister and brother-in-law Wendy and Bob Synowicki of Omaha; father-in-law Ted Barnett of Auburn; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
