Wade Allen Towne, one of five children of Floyd and Sandra (Stewart) Towne, was born March 27, 1968 in Pierre, South Dakota. Wade was baptized in the Presbyterian Church in Onida, South Dakota, and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Superior, Nebraska. He graduated from Nelson High School in Nelson, Nebraska and went on to receive an electronics degree from Southeast Community College in Milford.
After college, Wade found employment at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska. He worked 25+ years at Cooper, where he was an Instrument and Control Supervisor. When Wade wasn’t working, he enjoyed playing video games and working in his yard, which was apparent by the beautiful landscaping around his home.
On Sunday, April 6, 2014, Wade was rushed to the Nemaha County Hospital. It was there that he unexpectedly passed away, having reached the age of 46 years and 10 days. His father, and twin brother Wayne preceded him in death.
Survivors include his fiancée Karen Niemann of Auburn; children Canyon Towne of Peru; River Towne of Auburn; Timber Towne of Peru; step-children Jessica Niemann-Mathews and husband Casey of Wareham, MA; Michael Niemann of Boston, MA; Matthew Niemann of Auburn; one grandchild on the way; mother Sandra Towne of Grand Island; brothers Tom Towne and wife Tami of Grand Island, NE; Rick Towne and wife Angie of Omaha; sister Amanda Towne of Charlotte, NC; other relatives and friends.
