Vivian Russell

November 28, 1913 — July 3, 2009

Vivian Elizabeth (Fulton) Russell, one of eight children of Alvin O. and Della (Burns) Fulton, was born November 28, 1913 at Howe, Nebraska. She attended school in Howe and Auburn.

On February 23, 1932 Vivian was united in marriage to Lester H. Russell in Auburn. They made their home in Auburn, and would be blessed with four children: Barbara June, Ronald, Robert, and Kent.

Vivian?s duties as a wife, mother, and homemaker were her main priority, but she did work for over 30 years at the Danny Dare sewing factory in Auburn. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and had belonged to the Eagles Auxiliary in Auburn. She enjoyed flowers, and after taking painting classes, loved to paint nature scenes.

In October of 2000 Vivian became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn. While there she became a fan of the movie ?Phantom of the Opera?, and enjoyed seeing little children visit the center. Vivian passed away in Auburn on Friday, July 3, 2009 at the age of 95 years, 7 months, and 5 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester, two brothers, four sisters, daughter Barbara June Allen, and son Ronald A. Russell.

Vivian is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Robert P. and JoAnn Russell of Beatrice; Kent and Linda Russell of Nebraska City; son-in-law Keith Allen of Lincoln; daughter-in-law Charlotte Russell of Poway, CA; 12 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; sister Avadean Noyes of Kansas City, MO; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Monday, July 6, 2009 at First United Methodist Church in Auburn, Pastor Ruth Henderson officiated, and Nancy Ramsey was organist. Pallbearers were Tye Allen, Mark Russell, Michael Russell, Patrick Russell, John Russell, and Bob Fulton. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were Michael R. Russell, Brian Russell, Julie Weyer, Adele Slimm, Amy Clark, Lisa Davis, and Elizabeth Esser. Burial was at Bedford Cemetery near Howe.
