Vickie Irene (Eggert) McMann, eldest of three children of Roland and Patricia (Strodtman) Eggert, was born October 30, 1951 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. She was baptized in the Christian Church in Auburn, Nebraska, and graduated from Auburn High school in 1970.
On June 6, 1970, Vickie was united in marriage to Clifford McMann at the Auburn Christian Church by Rev. Frank Zimmerman. They lived and worked in various places across the country before settling back in Auburn.
Vickie had worked at Dan-Deb manufacturing in Auburn, tended bar and worked as a waitress. She also had worked at a Walmart store and in the receiving department at Shopko in Lincoln. She retired from Shopko for health reasons.
In addition to the Christian Church, Vickie had been a member of the Auburn Eagles Aerie. She was a dog and cat lover, enjoyed Artex painting, and spending time on her computer. Vickie spent many hours working in her yard, mowing, trimming, and tending to her flowers. She even enjoyed mowing for others, becoming known as “the neighborhood mower”.
In mid-December of 2017, Vickie was admitted to Bryan LGH Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. On December 23, she was transferred to the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn. It was there she passed away, on Sunday, December 24, 2017, at the age of 66 years, 1 month, and 24 days. Her grandparents and father Roland preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband Clifford of Auburn; mother Patricia Eggert of Auburn; brother and sister-in-law Fred and Rose Eggert of Clinton, MO; sister and brother-in-law Christine and Harold Silvey of Auburn; brother- and sister-in-law Dallas and Judy McMann of Auburn; numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and -nephews, other relatives and friends.
