Todd Steven Kite, youngest child of Milton Ward and Sandra Jean (Coulter) Kite, was born November 11, 1973 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. He attended Howe School through the 8th grade, and then went to Auburn High School, eventually earning his GED. With the exception of a year and a half spent in Arizona, Todd lived all of his life in Nemaha County, Nebraska.
Todd worked at various jobs through his life, including Auburn Consolidated Industries in Auburn, Excel in Nebraska City, and Armstrong Cabinets in Auburn. Of his many jobs, his favorite was when he worked at the Earl May Store in Auburn.
In his spare time Todd liked playing video games and watching wrestling on TV. He was a Star Wars and Star Trek fan, and enjoyed collecting comic books as well.
On Tuesday, March 25, 2014 Todd was rushed to the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn. He passed away there that evening at the age of 40 years, 4 months, and 14 days. His father Milt, brother James, and sister Paula Winkelman preceded him in death.
Todd is survived by his children Alisha, Nicholas, and Victor Kite, all of Auburn; mother Sandy Kite of Auburn; girlfriend Lisa Bauch of Auburn; sisters Daniella Ernst of Germany; Virginia and husband Mike Vinson of Auburn; brothers Robert Kite of Valley; Allen Kite of Auburn; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be Friday, March 28, 3:00 p.m. at the Kite Cemetery southeast of Auburn, followed by a celebration of Todd’s life at the Auburn Legion Club. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 6:00 to 8:00.
