Ruth Naomi (Huey) Ross, one of 14 children of John A. and Victoria McCormick Huey, was born February 15, 1917 in Auburn, Nebraska. She attended school in Nemaha and Auburn, graduated from Auburn High School, and attended beautician school in Omaha.
On October 29, 1945 Ruth was married to John W. Ross in Sabetha, Kansas. The couple made their home in Omaha, Nebraska. During World War II Ruth worked as a riveter in Omaha. She later worked in the city as a beautician.
Ruth was a member of the Methodist Church. She had been involved in ?crafting? in past years, and always enjoyed fishing.
In 2002 Ruth became a resident of the Nemaha County Good Samaritan Center in Auburn. It was there she passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2007 at the age of 90 years, 7 months, and 7 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Ruth is survived by her sister Lillian Carmichael of Nemaha; brother Everett Huey of Nemaha; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Hemmingsen Funeral Home Chapel in Auburn, with Rev. Ruth Henderson officiating. Special pre-recorded music was played. Burial followed in Sheridan Cemetery west of Auburn.
