Ruth Eleanor Moore, only child of Eldon and Bertha (Sphanle) Larimore, was born January 26, 1921 in rural Nemaha County, Nebraska. She attended Larkin School near her home through the 8th grade and high school in Nemaha and elsewhere.
On May 19, 1937 Ruth was united in marriage to Walter Moore at Coryell Park near Brock, Nebraska. The couple would be blessed with three children: Larry, Everett, and Jane. They made their first home near Johnson, Nebraska, then Beatrice, and would later live near Nemaha, in Auburn and Papillion in Nebraska.
Ruth was first and foremost a homemaker, tending to running the household and raising her children. For a short time she worked as a nurse’s aide at the Auburn Hospital and as a beautician.
A member of the First Lutheran Church in Papillion, Ruth also belonged to the Eastern Star Lodge in Brownville. She enjoyed gardening, and her artistic talents included painting in oils and crocheting.
After her husband passed in 1987, Ruth continued to live at their home in Papillion until 2009. She lived at an assisted living center for about a year, and in October of 2010 became a resident of the Nebraska Masonic Home in Plattsmouth.
Suffering from an illness, Ruth entered the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, Nebraska on July 29, 2014. She passed away there on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the age of 93 years, 6 months, and 8 days.
Ruth is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Lollie of McKenna, WA;, Everett and Frances of Maple Valley, WA; daughter and son-in-law Jane and George Biegger of Papillion; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Shirley Gerdes of Auburn; Marilyn Heater of Lincoln; Jeraldiene Moore of Johnson; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was Friday, August 08, 2014 at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn, officiated by Rev. Catherine Burroughs. Special pre-recorded music was played, and pallbearers were Jeff Liberty, Scott Moore, Brandon Adams, Andrew Adams, Jeff Allbery, and Jamie Allbery. Burial was in the Nemaha Cemetery.
