Ronald Lee Lotter, one of eight children of Donald and Evelyn Pearl (McConnaughey) Lotter, was born August 3, 1953, at Nebraska City, Nebraska. Ron grew up and attended school in Nemaha County, graduating from Auburn High School in 1971.
On September 11, 1972, Ron was united in marriage to Marcha Armstrong at Hiawatha, Kansas. They would be blessed with three children: Jeff, Rhonda, and Shawn. The couple later divorced.
Throughout the years, Ron drove a semi and held numerous owner/operator trucking jobs. Most recently, Ron was employed at Frontier Cooperative in Auburn.
When he wasn’t on the road trucking, Ron enjoyed watching Star Trek or any Law Enforcement television shows. Ron also enjoyed his time helping Shawn with his firewood cutting business. In his younger years, Ron liked drag racing his cars as well as working on cars.
On February, 20, 2022, Ron unexpectedly passed away at his home in Auburn, having reached the age of 68 years, 6 months, and 17 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert, sister Rebecca, and a step-grandson Devin Schebaum.
Those left to mourn Ron’s passing, include his children Jeff Lotter (Dawn Niles) of Rock Port, Rhonda (Craig) Aue of Auburn, Shawn Lotter (Mary Hale) of Rock Port; grandchildren Paige and Cuyler Aue, Theron Hill, Cameron Lotter; step-grandchildren Kayla, Michael, Reana, Aiden, Jaxson, Mayson; siblings Mary (Irwin) Herr of Table Rock, Gary of Peru, Nancy (Rick) Core of Peru, Debra (Eldon) Wostrel of Yankton, SD, Terry (Janice) of Falls City; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be Friday, February 25, 10:00 a.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Burial of ashes will be at a later date at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Peru. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 6:00 to 7:00.
