Rita M. (Jones) Obermeyer, age 96 of Auburn, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn.
Survivors include one sister, Emma (Jones) McFerrin of Kansas City, Missouri; her children Gary (Kate) of Portland, Oregon; Dennis (Carole) of Wichita, Kansas; Daryl (Jackie) of Brownville, Nebraska; Gloria Jensen (Jeff) of Omaha, Nebraska; and Lisa Kirby (Kris) of Auburn, Nebraska; grandchildren Kendal Obermeyer (Jeff), Lindsay Obermeyer (Kenny), Brice Obermeyer, Wade Obermeyer (Huntley), Rondell Walsh, Neal Obermeyer, Monica Davis (Nolan), Erica Janssen (Tony), Gavin Jensen (Maria), Bailey Jensen (Kjell), Alexis Kirby, Nathan Kirby; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 24, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery near Auburn. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 5:00 to 7:00. Vigil with Rosary, also at the funeral home, will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Cemetery or Brownville Village Theater.
