Rick Lynn Fritz was born June 4, 1955, in Humboldt, Nebraska to Elmer and Thelma Fritz. Rick grew up near Verdon, Nebraska where he farmed with his dad. He passed away on Friday, August6, 2021 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
On May 18, 1979, he married Julie Fulton. The couple made their home on the family farm until the death of Rick’s dad. To this marriage two daughters were born. Rick was a quiet and easygoing simple man, who loved farming, wood working, model trains, and his family.
He is survived by his wife Julie of the home; daughters Wendy (James) Oltrogge of Cook, Amanda (Larry) Fritz of Table Rock; his grandchildren Madison, Ethan, Memphis, Aleigha, Keylee, and Courtney; sister Wylene Picton of Falls City; brothers Gary (Donna) Fritz of Tumwater, WA, Merle (Anita) Fritz of Parker, CO, Roger (Sharyl) Fritz of White Cloud, KS; brothers-in-law Bill Fulton of Auburn, Gene Fulton of Nebraska City, Dave Burton of Steamboat Springs, CO; sisters-in-law Susan Mann of Auburn, Lucy Fulton of Auburn; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Dan Gifford with eulogy by Rev. Justin Fulton, will be Thursday, August 12, 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn. Burial will be at the Verdon Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 5:30 to 7:30.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
