Ralph Beatty, age 87 of Lee?s Summit, MO (formerly Peru), passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 in Lee?s Summit. He was born July 9, 1921 in Adams, NE. Ralph served with the Navy SeaBees during WWII.
Survivors include his wife Ruth of Lee?s Summit; children Sharon Maynard of Omaha; Karen (Lilchandra) Sookram of Lincoln; Rex (Kathy) Beatty of Auburn; James (Barbara) Beatty of Lee?s Summit; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren;
brothers David Beatty of Vail, AZ; Cecil Beatty of Tucson, AZ; Carol Beatty of Peru; sister Lois Eller of Simi Valley, CA; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 2, 2:00 p.m. at the Peru Community Church in Peru. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Peru, with graveside military honors by Peru VFW Post #7299. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 6:00 to 8:00.
Memorials are suggested to the National SeaBee Memorial or Peru State College Foundation.
