Paula Sue Purviance

Paula Sue Brown, daughter of Burton W. and Virginia Lee (Smith) Brown, was born December 23, 1949, in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up and attended school in Des Moines, graduating from Lincoln High School and then attending college.

On November 13, 1971, Paula was united in marriage to Bobby Purviance in Des Moines. They lived for a time in Red Oak, Iowa before making their home in Hickman, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with three children: Tricia, Mary Beth, and Andrew.

Paula was an artist who enjoyed her craft very much, as well as sewing and other arts and crafts. She liked volunteering at local orchards and pumpkin patches and had been a member of Covenant Christian Church in Omaha, Nebraska.

Paula and Bob had recently moved to Brownville, Nebraska to be a part of the community and its activities. Her health failed and Paula moved briefly to the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn, Nebraska. It was there she passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, having reached the age of 74 years, 10 months, and 21 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Deny Brown.

Paula leaves behind many who miss her dearly, including her husband Bob of Brownville; daughters Tricia Rogers of Mackay, ID and Mary Beth (Matt) Callicoat of Olathe, KS; son Andrew (Hannah) Purviance of Boston, MA; grandchildren Kalena, Alana, Jyha, Sakira, Matthew, Makayla, Otis, Posey, Turner, and Foster; brothers David (Sandy) Brown of Phoenix, AZ, Brad (Jackie) Brown of Camp Verde, AZ, and Kevin Brown; other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life is planned for after the holiday season.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
