Patricia Woodward, daughter of Marcia Lynn Woodward, was born October 16, 1960, at General Rose Memorial Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Patty received her education at Beatrice State Developmental Center in Beatrice, Nebraska, and lived at the facility as well. Later in life she moved to Auburn, Nebraska where she became a client of Region V Services and lived in a Region V group home. She had also lived in the home of Bev Allen for many years.
At the Region V workshop Patty was a skilled and dedicated worker in the woodshop. She also worked at various locations in the Auburn community. Patty was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Auburn and enjoyed Sunday services and her church friends.
Patty was a huge Elvis fan and enjoyed Disney characters also. She loved to travel and had been to Disney World and on an Alaskan Cruise, among other trips. She was an animal lover and dance enthusiast. Patty spent many dances with her boyfriend of many years, Harold Laflin.
As her health declined in recent months, Patty was able to stay at her home in Auburn with the help of her friends, Region V Staff, and eventually hospice. She passed away at home, surrounded by many who cared for and about her, on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. She passed just 9 days after her 62nd birthday, preceded in death by her mother and her friend Bev Allen.
Left to remember Patty’s love and laughter are her special friends Harold Laflin, Bea Brailey, Kim Kieler, Christy Somerville, and her extended families at Region V Services and First Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service will be Friday, October 28, 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Auburn. Burial of ashes will be at Sheridan West Cemetery at Auburn. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
