Mitchel D. Furnas, age 60 of Waterloo, IA, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.
Survivors include his wife Ann of Norwalk, IA; daughters Patricia Carrol of Port Angeles, WA; Samantha Furnas of Seattle, WA; sisters Marjorie Janet Hilliard of Lincoln; Allison and husband Martin Hayes of Brownville; brother Tyrone Furnas of Brownville; mother-in-law Elizabeth Hermes of LeMars, IA; sisters- and brothers-in-law Joe and Karen Hermes of Phoenix, AZ; Kay and James Delaney of Council Bluffs, IA; Mary Hermes of International Falls, MN; John and Roxie Hermes of LeMars, IA; Beth Hermes and significant other Leif Widlund of Norwalk, IA; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be Monday, October 12, 11:00 a.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Mitchel’s body will be cremated following the service, and burial of ashes will be at a later date at Walnut Grove Cemetery at Brownville. Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday noon to 3:00 p.m. and with family greeting friends 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Family will also greet friends one hour prior to service time on Monday.
Memorials are suggested to family choice.
