Merlin J. Saale, age 74 of Talmage, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009 at the Homestead Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln. He was born October 20, 1934 near Cook, NE, and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife Diane of Talmage; sons John Pleis of Annapolis, MD; James and wife Iona Pleis of Andover, KS; sister Betty (Sterling) Teten of Talmage; brother Norman D. (Phyllis) Saale of Grand Island; sister-in-law Lorraine Saale of Burton, VA; brother-in-law Lyle (Sherril) Wegele of Jansen, NE; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 8, 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage. Burial will follow in Osage Cemetery near Cook. Visitation will be Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church, where family will greet friends.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Assocation or the church.
