Marilee J Drumm

Marilee Joyce (Boden) Drumm, daughter of Wilhelm and Dora (Brinkman) Boden, was born October 28, 1933, in a farmhouse near Sterling, Nebraska. Marilee attended country schools near Peru and Bennet in Nebraska as the family moved. When they settled on a farm near Stella Marilee attended Higgins country school through the 8th grade. She then attended Stella High School, graduating with the class of 1951. After high school, Marilee attended business school in Omaha.

On January 18, 1953, Marilee was united in marriage to Orman Drumm. The couple would be blessed with three children Bruce, Joyce, and Susan. Orman and Marilee made their home on a farm near Stella, Nebraska and then moved to Beatrice in 1976.

Marilee’s main occupation was that of a farmwife. She also worked at Pohlman Ford Garage in Auburn and then a department store in Waukegan, Illinois while Orman was in naval school. She also worked for Darling Transfer in Auburn and State Federal Saving and Loan (American Charter) in Beatrice.

Marilee loved her flowers, and her backyard was always full of color. Her dogs over the years: Skipper, Maggie, Mindy, and Star, were very important to her. Marilee and Orman enjoyed vacations throughout the United States and Canada with their close neighbors and made many memories over the years.

After Orman’s passing in 2015, Marilee continued living in Beatrice until her health no longer allowed. She moved to the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn in August of 2024, and it was there that she passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, having reached the age of 90 years, 11 months, and 22 days. Besides her husband Orman, she was preceded in death by her parents Wilhelm and Dora Boden, and parents-in-law Nellie and Clarence Clark and Jessie Drumm.

Those left to mourn her loss include her son Bruce (Nancy) Drumm of Wichita, KS; daughters Joyce (Mike) Chandler of Beatrice, Susan (Tim) Brewer of Humboldt; grandchildren Andrew Drumm, Tyler (Alice) Drumm, Curtis (Kaarin) Ramer, Marcus (Jess) Ramer, Jana (Cody) Neer, Carlyn (Darian) Haynes; step-grandchildren Jamie (Tana) Chandler, Ceci (Randy) Reschke, Jesse (Heather) Chandler, Amea Chandler (Solomon West); 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
