February 10, 1996, Margaret Joan Dishman came into this world - proudly bearing the name of her two grandmothers. She attended Platte Valley Christian Academy, graduated from Hershey High School and was pursuing a degree in Special Education at Peru State College. Individuals with disabilities held a special place in her heart, and though her dream to teach was cut short, she had a beautiful opportunity to work with individuals from the North Platte Opportunity Center when she directed a Christmas production at the Fox Theatre in 2019. This showed the gifts she had - creativity, leadership, writing, music, and a goofy sense of humor! She gladly shared these gifts and used them to the glory and honor of the ONE who gave her these gifts - her Savior, Jesus Christ.
From her birth, she was the apple of her parents' eyes. Scott and Linda adored their little girl! When she was eight years old, the Dishman Three ventured over to Thailand and came back to Nebraska as the Dishman Five, when Pon and Pan joined the family. The strong bond between these three siblings was evident and you would always find Margaret Jo right in the middle of her brothers! How she loved her family - the family she was born into, her church family at Calvary Baptist, and the many friends that became like family to her - and how we loved her!
She went HOME on February 3, 2021. She is survived by her parents, Scott and Linda Dishman, brothers Pon Dishman of Omaha, NE and Pan Dishman of Omaha, NE, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
Preceding Margaret Jo in death were her grandparents: Albert and Margaret Dishman; Roy and Joan Vaala; and Charlotte Vaala.
A celebration of Margaret Jo's life will be held on Saturday, February 13th, at 2:30 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in North Platte, NE.
