Linda Ann (Lantzy) Cole, one of three daughters of Simon and Lois (York) Lantzy, was born June 28, 1959 in Auburn, Nebraska. She attended Falls City Sacred Heart School, graduating in 1977. Linda then received a degree from Lincoln School of Commerce in 1979.
On June 9, 1979 Linda was united in marriage to Richard “Rick” Cole in Falls City. They made their home in Auburn, and were blessed with two daughters: Lauren and Rachel.
Linda worked in the medical profession her entire career. She had been employed at the Nemaha County Hospital and Auburn Clinic in Auburn, and more recently at the Lincoln Surgical Hospital in Lincoln as a coder.
Linda was a member of the Catholic Church, and belonged to the American Association of Professional Coders. Her family and friends were very important to her, and her grandchildren were the light of Linda’s life.
As the effects of cancer wore her down, Linda continued to work as long as she could, and with the help of her family was able to stay at her home through it all. She passed away at her home in Lincoln, with family around her, on Monday, March 9, 2015. She had reached the age of 55 years, 8 months, and 9 days. She was preceded in death by her husband Rick and her parents.
Left to remember her love and laughter are her daughters Lauren Ferguson of Lincoln; Rachel and husband Vincent Hagan of Omaha; grandchildren Owen, Kamryn and Anniston Ferguson; Kopen and Keagun Hagan; sisters Janis Fischer of Holts Summit, MO; Susan and husband Leon Wissmann of Hiawatha, KS; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation and time of remembrance will be Sunday, March 15, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Private family burial of ashes will be at a later date.
