Leonard Claude Moore was born March 9, 1924 at Nemaha, Nebraska. One of two children of Claude ?Brick? and Edna (Grossoehme) Moore, Leonard attended school in Nemaha and graduated from high school there. He attended Peru State College for a short time.
On April 11, 1952 Leonard was united in marriage to Doris Hayes at the Methodist Church in Auburn, Nebraska. They would be blessed with three children: Nicky, Harold, and Jerrilynne. The couple made their home on the family farm near Nemaha.
After his schooling Leonard began farming with his father near Nemaha. As Brick began to retire, Leonard farmed for a while with his brother-in-law. At that time Leonard and Doris moved to Arizona, living in Tucson and Sun City before returning to Auburn in 2004.
Leonard was a 75 year member of the United Methodist Church, belonging to the Nemaha church, St. John?s and Willow Brook Methodist in Arizona, and the First United Methodist Church in Auburn. He was a member of the Nemaha Volunteer Fire Department, and belonged to the Lions Club while in Arizona. He loved doing yard work and tending to his fruit trees while on the farm. In his later years, Leonard enjoyed listening to country music on his tape or CD player.
When his health dictated a move, Leonard became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn in March of 2010. It was there he passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the age of 88 years, 2 months, and 20 days.
