John Tobias Andreesen passed on to eternal life on February 20,2025, at Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn, Nebraska. He was born in Beatrice, Nebraska on October 29, 1947. John graduated from Barneston High School in 1966 and then went to Fairbury Junior College from 1966-1968.
After college John joined the United States Army and between 1969 and 1970 he served in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star. John took great pride in being a veteran throughout his life. In 2017, the Vietnam veterans were recognized and were flown to Washington D.C. on the Honor Flight to visit memorials honoring their service. John was a lifetime member of the Barneston American Legion Post 356 and helped build it from the ground up.
He married Louella Breunsbach on November 14,1980. Two daughters were born into this union, Tara LaMay and Felicia Jo. John and Lou lived in various locations between 1984-1987 where he worked as a farm hand and truck driver. John and Lou moved back to the family farm near Barneston, NE in 1987 to raise their family. While living on the farm John worked at Dempsters in Beatrice and farmed several acres and then switched to driving full time for Knabe Trucking. They remained on the farm until 2012, at that time they moved to Auburn to be near their kids and grandkids.
In his free time, John spent his time playing card games with his friends and family. John also loved supporting his kids and grandkids in all their sports and activities. He has always loved music and found a love for playing the tuba in various bands. John spent his Sundays at church and would make sure to spend time socializing with a cup of coffee after service. John loved spending time with his friends and family most of all. He was the best host and would always make sure you had a drink in your hand.
