Jeffrey Wurtele

Jeffrey Brian Wurtele, one of three children of Gail (Shearer) and Jerry Wurtele, Sr., was born February 1, 1970, in Kearney, Nebraska. Jeff grew up attending school in Nebraska City, graduating from Nebraska City High School in 1988. Jeff took pride in being a part of the Nebraska City Pioneers wrestling team while in high school.

After high school, Jeff became a welder by trade, a job that he enjoyed very much. Jeff was a welder for a long time, until his health no longer allowed him to continue working.

Jeff was very artistic; he enjoyed drawing and making jewelry. He also was known to have a green thumb, growing vegetables in his garden and taking care of house plants.

Jeff passed away unexpectedly at his home in Auburn on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, having reached the age of 55 years, 1 month, and 11 days. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to mourn his passing include his son Mason Wurtele of Falls City; sister Sheryl Wurtele of Westminster, CO; brother and sister-in-law Jerry, Jr. and Susan Wurtele of Plattsmouth; other relatives and friends.

Jeff's wishes were to be cremated with private family inurnment in Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
