Irene Louise (Hahn) Buman, one of three children of William H. and Frieda C. (Wagner) Hahn, was born November 25, 1924 at Johnson, Nebraska.
On November 17, 1947 Irene was united in marriage to Robert E. Buman at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn. They made their first home on the family farm near Steinauer, Nebraska, and were blessed with three children: Ron, Gloria, and Dan.
Irene and Bob later moved in to Steinauer, where they owned and operated Buman TV Sales and Service. The couple lived in Lincoln, Nebraska and then moved to Madison, Nebraska. While there they were owners of Buman Chevrolet, and Irene was very active in the business and running the parts department. In 1983 the couple retired and moved to Florida.
In Florida Irene kept busy by volunteering with the St. Vincent DePaul soup kitchen, with Meals on Wheels, and taking her neighbors for doctor visits. After her husband Bob died in 1988 Irene did some traveling with her good friend Lois from Steinauer. She enjoyed crocheting, tatting, and knitting, and liked to work puzzles and read.
With her health failing, Irene moved to Auburn, Nebraska in December of 2010 to live with her son Dan and his wife Melissa. It was at their home she passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the age of 86 years, 3 months, and 27 days. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Harvey H. Hahn, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law Catherine and Robert Cool, Joe Krontz, Myron Kent, and Clifford Lang.
