Hazel Ludean (Randall) Tucker, one of seven children of Squire and Drucilla (Perkins) Randall, was born September 16, 1911 on a farm southwest of Craig, Missouri. Her family moved to the Verdon, Nebraska area, where Hazel attended school. She was a member of the Verdon Christian Church in her early years.
Hazel was married to Charlie Kirkendall. Six children were born to this union: Charlie, Joan, Peggy, Ted, Jerry, and Larry. They were later divorced. On July 2, 1966 Hazel was married to Earl Tucker. They made their home in the Elk Creek, Nebraska area for many years, where they were members of the Methodist Church.
As a single mother, Hazel worked hard running the farm and raising her children. At various times in her life, she also worked at the Danny Dare Factory in Auburn, Nebraska and other part-time jobs. Hazel always enjoyed her gardening and canning the vegetables she grew, as well as baking and cooking for her family.
After her husband Earl passed away in 1982 Hazel was able to stay at her home for many years. When that was no longer feasible, she moved to the Westbury Heights Apartments in Auburn. In March of 2009 Hazel became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn. It was there she passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the age of 98 years, 1 month, and 20 days. In addition to her husband and parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her son Charlie, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
