Harold Moyer, age 69 of Auburn, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society-Auburn.
Harold was born on March 14, 1953 in Humboldt, NE, the son of Joy E. and Beverly Irene (Anderson) Moyer. He attended school in Tecumseh and Pawnee City.
He worked a variety of jobs, including Campbell’s Soup in Tecumseh and Triangle Pacific for some 10 years. He also enjoyed his time at Indian Cave State Park, working in maintenance and groundskeeping along with leading horse trail rides around the park.
Harold’s true passion was for stock cars and racing. He raced stock cars in his younger years with his brothers Ray and Ron and later worked as a crew chief and automotive repair mechanic. He spent many weekends attending races at Eagle Raceway, Beatrice, and I-80 Speedway. Harold served as crew chief for almost some 50 years; 30 years with his brother Ray and another 20 with his nephew Casey. He was also a huge Nebraska football fan.
Survivors include daughter Destini Kuker of Barada, NE; brothers Ron Moyer and Ray Moyer, both of Auburn; nephew Casey (Alicia) Moyer of Auburn; niece Michelle (Matthew) Kaufman of Lincoln; great nieces and nephews C.J., Isaiah, Gavin, and Alisha; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joy and Beverly Moyer, and his nephew Joshua Phillip Moyer.
A funeral service will be Saturday, August 6, 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery south of Johnson. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday noon to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 6:00 to 8:00.
