Gladys Marie (Lotter) Wintz, one of 10 children of Frank and Della (Thompson) Lotter, was born April 3, 1917 at Shubert, Nebraska. She grew up and attended country school near Shubert.
On August 8, 1932 Gladys was united in marriage to Ludwig Wintz in Rulo, Nebraska. They made their home on a farm near Auburn, and would be blessed with two children, Leonard and Eugenia.
Gladys had been a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Tabernacle Society. Along with church activities, family played a very important role in her life. Gladys always enjoyed having a garden and canning the vegetables she grew.
Surrounded by family, Gladys passed away at her home on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the age of 92 years, 7 months, and 5 days. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ludwig, son Leonard, a grandson, and her nine brothers and sisters.
Gladys is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Eugenia and Luverne ?Bud? Hamann of Auburn; daughter-in-law Virginia Wintz of Auburn; 7 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
