Evelyan Mcmann

Evelyan Wampler, one of six children of Howard and Dorothy (Edwards) Wampler, was born August 20, 1937, in Wright County, Missouri. Evelyan grew up and attended school in Riverton, Iowa, where she graduated from high school.

On April 1, 1965, Evelyan was married to Jerry McMann at Rock Port, Missouri. The couple was blessed with two children: Lyle and Shelly.

Evelyan was employed by American Meter in Nebraska City. She would work there for 43 years before retiring.

Evelyan was a member of the Auburn Christian Church. She was also a member of the Shuffles and Ruffles square dancing club, and a camping club. The most important thing in Evelyan’s life was her family, and she showed this with love and support of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

After a battle with cancer, Evelyan lost her fight at home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, November 12, 2015, having reached the age of 78 years, 2 months, and 23 days. Her parents, and infant brother Carl Wampler preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband Jerry of Auburn; son Lyle and wife Kendra McMann of Auburn; daughter Shelly and husband John Mullins of Sidney, IA; grandchildren: Garrett and wife Nicole McMann, Kelly McMann, Jacqueline Rohrs, Dustine Rohrs, Jacob McMann, Alyssa Rohrs, Alicia and husband Cody Kenealy, Ryan Mullins and significant other Ashley Bartholomew; great-grandchildren: Noah Shaver, Audrey McMann, Caydence Kenealy, Karsyn Kenealy, Zakkery Bartholomew, Kylar Kenealy, Hudsyn Mullins; brothers and sisters Owen (Pat) Wampler of St. Paul, NE, Betty (Darold) Kuhlmann of Horseshoe Bend, ID, Mary Wampler of Nebraska City, Donald (Darlene) Wampler of Nebraska City; brother-in-law Robert (Linda Jo) McMann of Turon, KS; sister-in-law Marilyn McMann of Nebraska City; other relatives and many friends.
