E. Pauline (Myers) Ballue

   Elma Pauline Myers, one of four children of Edwin and Hazel (Vice) Myers, was born April 2, 1931, in Peru, Nebraska.  She attended country school before transferring to the public school in Brownville, Nebraska.

   On June 5, 1948, Pauline was united in marriage to John E. Ballue in Auburn, Nebraska. They made their home in Brownville and would be blessed with three children:  Nancy, Debbie, and Johnnie.

   Pauline devoted much of her time to raising her children and keeping the household running.  She was also active in her community and the Brownville Christian Church, where she was a longtime member.  Pauline was a 50+ year member of the Brownville Eastern Star as well.

   Hobbies Pauline enjoyed include sewing, embroidering, cooking, gardening, and playing cards and bingo.  She also had fun in her earlier years square dancing with John.

   After John passed away Pauline continued living in their Brownville home for many years.  In recent years she had moved to an apartment in Springfield, South Dakota, near her daughter Debbie.  Due to declining health, she moved to the Good Samaritan Society-Tyndall.  She passed away there on Thursday, February 29, 2024, having reached the age of 92 years, 10 months, and 27 days.  In addition to her husband, Pauline was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law Johnnie and Karen, her three siblings and their spouses.

   Those left to fondly remember Pauline include her daughters and son-in-law Nancy Ballue Lowrey of Omaha, Debbie L. and Doug Haug of Springfield, SD; grandchildren Patrick (Joyce) Lowrey, Heather Hahn Kreifel, Megan (Dustin) Hahn Moore, Paula (Brent) Lowrey Wieck, Jeremy (Nicole) Haug, Katie (Jon) Dommel, Margaret Ellingsen, Jonathan (Megan) Ballue; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be Saturday, March 9, 11:00 a.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn.  Family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery at Brownville.
