Dennis Palmer

September 18, 1961 — November 24, 2015

Dennis Dale Palmer, son of Robert Dale and Glenda (Byrom) Palmer, was born September 18, 1961 in Auburn, Nebraska. Dennis attended the United Methodist Church in Nemaha, Nebraska and Southeast Nebraska Consolidated Schools in Stella, Nebraska. He received his GED after leaving school, and attended Vatterot College in Omaha, Nebraska, earning a degree in accounting and business/management.

In 1985 Dennis married Shelley Allen in the Nemaha Christian Church. They were blessed with one son, Nathan. The couple later divorced.

Dennis worked at the sewing factory in Auburn until it closed. He worked as a farm hand for many farmers in area, mostly for Corky Jones. Dennis also picked grapes for the winery in Brownville, Nebraska.

A football fan, Dennis cheered for the Huskers and Packers through the season. He enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting when he had the opportunity.

When the effects of cancer on his body necessitated a move from his home in Nemaha, Dennis became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn. He passed away there on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the age of 54 years, 2 months, and 6 days. His father preceded him in death.

Dennis is survived by his son Nathan of Nemaha; mother Glenda of Auburn; sisters Becky (Johnny) Polivka of Weston, NE; Tammy (Todd) Hendrickson of Shubert; brother Dave of Auburn; nieces Samantha and Belinda; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be Saturday, November 28, 1:00 p.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. No visitation is planned.
