Daniel Brian Sheehan, one of five children of Michael and Ilene (Goolsby) Sheehan, was born January 20, 1960 in Plainview, Nebraska. He attended grade school in Bennington, Lewis & Clark Junior High in Omaha, and high school in Omaha and Colorado.
On March 17, 2010, Dan married Michelle Slosser in Perrysburg, Ohio. The couple eventually moved to Auburn, Nebraska, to make their home.
Dan worked for many years as a machinist in the envelope manufacturing industry. He started with Federal Envelope Co. in Omaha, and then worked for the Burkley Envelope Co. in Wahoo, Nebraska. From there he went to a company in Ohio, where he trained others on running and repairing the machines used in the factory.
Dan enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, and camping. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles. Most of all, though, he loved being with his grandchildren and playing with them.
On January 28, 2017, Dan was admitted to Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. He passed away there on Sunday, January 29, 2017, just 9 days after his 57th birthday. His grandparents, father Michael, step-father Bill Stephens, and nephew Aaron Sheehan preceded him in death.
Dan is survived by his wife Michelle of Auburn; son Robert Sheehan of Vietnam; step-children Raven (Jordan) Arehart of Valley; Jerome Osterloh and significant other Hannah Marks of Lincoln; Lacey Houle of Willingston, ND; step-grandchildren Madison and Bailey Arehart; mother Ilene Sheehan Stephens of Auburn; siblings and spouses Rick and Chyria Sheehan of Lincoln; Kathy and Tim LaBorde of Rochester, MN; David Sheehan of Omaha; Margaret Janousek and significant other Sam Morford of Omaha; other relatives and friends.
