Dorothy Lorraine Redfern, one of two children of Edgar D. and Elizabeth (Goodell) Redfern, was born on August 9, 1922 in Auburn, Nebraska.
Lorraine graduated from Auburn High School. She later moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she worked at Brandeis. While working in Omaha she met Cecil Hahn. On October 4, 1946 Lorraine was united in marriage to Cecil in Omaha, Nebraska. They made their first home in Avoca, Iowa and soon moved to Dexter, Iowa where their daughter Betty was born. Then in 1954 the family moved to Auburn, Nebraska to join Lorraine's parents in their men's retail clothing business. Eventually Cecil and Lorraine purchased the business and operated Hahn Clothing Company until their retirement in April of 1989.
Lorraine was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn, Nebraska. She enjoyed her service projects at St. Paul's over the years. Lorraine also enjoyed playing golf at the Auburn Country Club and time spent playing bridge and having coffee with friends.
Cecil passed away on October 16, 2012 in Auburn, Nebraska. Lorraine entered Good Samaritan Society-Auburn in June, 2016. It was there she passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the age of 95 years, 8 months, and 3 days. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother Edgar (Bud) Redfern, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ethel and Herman Blinde, and niece Sharon Armstrong.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter Betty Adams of Lincoln; grandson Todd Adams of Evanston, Illinois; sister-in-law Anna Belle Redfern; other relatives and friends.
Private graveside services and inurnment of ashes will be at a later date in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Auburn.
