Clifford Richard Peterson, Jr., one of six children of Clifford, Sr. and Wilma Harrell, was born May 15, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York. The family would move to Hawaii, and then to Omaha, Nebraska, where Skip, as he was known, would grow up attending school in the Florence neighborhood of North Omaha.
Skip was a painter by trade, owning a painting business a majority of his life. He was a fan of boxing and loved spending time with his grandkids. One of his favorite things to do was making people laugh.
After a decline in health, Skip moved to Auburn, Nebraska and became a resident of Good Samaritan Society. It was there that he passed away on February 22, 2022, having reached the age of 78 years, 9 months, and 7 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jeffrey, and sister Jenny Baker.
Those left to mourn Skip’s passing include his daughters and sons-in-law Julie and Tim Manion of Omaha, Jamie and Kenny Morton of Omaha; sons and daughters-in-law Jason and Antonya of Omaha, Justin and Rachel of Payson, AZ; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings Carolyn (John) Flynn, Christine (Bill) Hendricks, Darrel (Pat) Peterson, Laurel “Kiki” Minturn; other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn.
