Chad Arlen Reeves

Chad Arlen Reeves, one of four sons of Clinton and Phyllis (Groff) Reeves, was born August 7, 1972, at Nebraska City, Nebraska. Chad grew up on a farm in rural Richardson County and attended school in Stella, graduating from Southeast Consolidated High School in 1990. Chad then went on to attend Southeast Community College at Milford.

Chad was a jack of all trades who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved smoking different meats to contribute to the meals at the High-Rise in

Auburn where he was living. He enjoyed the outdoors, riding his 4-wheeler, fishing, and most importantly his dog Okie. Chad held several jobs throughout his life, but most recently was helping out at Bulldog Bins in Auburn.

On Sunday, May 7, 2023, Chad unexpectedly passed away at his home in Auburn, having reached the age of 50 years and 9 months. He was preceded in death by his father Clint, twin brothers Jeffrey Allen and James Arlen, grandparents Ralph and Mildred Groff and Walt and Nellie Reeves.

Those left to mourn his loss include his mother Phyllis Reeves; children Annika McDonald, Bryson Mendoza, Cody Shiley; granddaughter Kinsley; brother Chris Reeves and girlfriend Carrie Vaughn and her son Colton Ross; nieces Jena, Ashley, and Anna Reeves, Juliana Rust; girlfriend Missy Smith and her daughter Madelyn Slechta; dog Okie; numerous uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 20, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 5th Street Post in Peru. Private family burial will take place in Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Peru.
