Burl Henrichs,

April 28, 1947 — November 25, 2012

Burl Dean Henrichs, one of six sons of LaVerne and Betty Jean (Miller) Henrichs, was born April 28, 1947 in Auburn, Nebraska. After a couple years in country school, he attended Auburn Public Schools, graduating from high school in 1966.

On June 26, 1976 Burl married Deborah Leslie at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn. They were blessed with a son, Burl Dean, Jr. Burl and Deb made their home in Auburn. Although they later divorced, they remained good friends.

Burl worked for over 25 years at Tri-Pac Cabinet Manufacturing in Auburn. His favorite work, however, came after his time at Tri-Pac working as a laborer for the union out of Omaha. He worked there for over 15 years.

A man of simple pleasures, Burl spent his spare time watching Westerns or his beloved Huskers on TV. He loved the many dogs he owned throughout the years, but his love of family always came first in his life.

Declining health because of illness eventually kept Burl confined to his home, where Deborah and other family members looked after him. He passed away at his home in Auburn on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the age of 65 years, 6 months, and 28 days. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Burl is survived by his son Burl, Jr. and Jessie Bradsher of Austin, TX; granddaughter Andrea Betts; brothers Ronnie and wife Karen of Silver City, IA, Gary and wife Deb of Lancaster, CA, Jim of Auburn, Denny and wife Cindy of Auburn, Roger of Columbus; former wife Deborah Henrichs of Auburn; other relatives and many friends.
