Brandon Joseph Petet, son of Joseph and Sheril (Jones) Petet, was born November 29, 1993, at Auburn, Nebraska. Brandon grew up and attended school in Auburn, graduating from Auburn High School in 2012.
Brandon was united in marriage to Pearle Klepper and would be blessed with two children: Mikayla and Easton. The two would later divorce and on July 19, 2019, Brandon was married to Rhiannon McRoberts who would step in and help to raise the children.
After high school, Brandon was employed at Tecumseh State Correctional Institution as a corrections officer. He then worked for the Nemaha County Sheriffs Department as a jailor. Most recently, Brandon was working at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville as a security guard.
Brandon was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Auburn. He also belonged to the Nemaha Fire Department and the Nemaha County Giving Hope Cancer Fund. Brandon enjoyed playing video games and chasing storms, but most importantly spending time with his family.
On Sunday, June 4, 2023, Brandon passed away unexpectedly at his home in Auburn having reached the age of 29 years, 6 months, and 6 days. He was preceded in death by his father Joe, grandpa Loy Jones, and grandma Norma Petet.
Those left to mourn his loss include his wife Rhiannon; children Mikayla and Easton Petet; mother Sheril Petet; siblings Shannon Bennett, Dustin Bennett (fiancé Laura Rudnick), Chad Petet, Sherry Petet; grandmothers Marna Jones, Margaret Jones; mother-in-law Carina Hamilton; father-in-law Jesse McRoberts, Sr.; brother-in-law Jesse (Sidney) McRoberts, Jr.; mother of Brandon’s children Pearle Klepper (fiancé Joseph Hatzenbuehler); other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2:00 p.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn. Burial of ashes will take place in Sheridan West Cemetery at Auburn. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
