Betty Lee (Scott) Leslie, one of fourteen children of Clifford and Bessie (King) Scott, was born May 1, 1930 in Auburn, Nebraska. She attended school in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School.
On January 17, 1950 Betty was united in marriage to Milo Leslie in Lincoln, Nebraska. They made their home in Auburn and would be blessed with six children.
Betty spent her working life at various jobs in Auburn. She had worked at Tiny’s Café, the Dairy Sweet, Danny Dare Sewing Factory, and the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn. She was a longtime member of the Auburn Christian Church.
She enjoyed canning the produce of her and Milo’s large garden and doing embroidery work. Visits with friends were important to her, but mostly she dearly loved being with her family.
On Friday, June 12, 2020 Betty passed away unexpectedly at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 90 years, 1 month, and 11 days. In addition to her parents and all of her siblings, she was preceded in death by her son Steve Leslie and daughters Deborah Sodano and Betty “Sis” Castillo.
Those left to remember her love include her husband Milo of Auburn; children and spouses Jack and Tammy Leslie of Beatrice, Tammy and Steve Moody of Auburn, Mark and Paula Leslie of Auburn; grandchildren Maria (John) Morris, Regina Castillo, Josephine Castillo, Raymond Castillo, Burl (Jessie) Henrichs, Miranda Leslie, Grant Leslie, Carson Leslie, Cheryl (Jeremy) Doty, Michelle (Matt) Snyder, Jessica Leslie, Jake Leslie, Milo Leslie; numerous great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service with current COVID-19 restrictions in place, will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Auburn Christian Church in Auburn. Burial will follow in Glenrock Cemetery near Brock. Visitation will be Monday from noon to 6:00 p.m. at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn.
