Albert Asa Wetmore, Jr., son of Albert Wetmore, Sr. and Sandra (Combs) Hart, was born November 13, 1972, in South Charleston, West Virginia. Bert, as he was known, grew up in Brownville, Nebraska, where he was baptized in the Brownville Christian Church, and was a graduate of Auburn High School.
After graduating high school, Bert moved to Nemaha. He was a sports fanatic, cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Carolina Panthers, but never the Kansas City Chiefs. Bert also enjoyed fishing and was a music enthusiast. Bert didn?t have any children, but had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews and loved them as if they were his own.
Bert passed away suddenly at his home in Nemaha on Friday, April 12, 2013, having reached the age of 40 years, 4 months, 30 days. He was preceded in death by his father, Bert Wetmore, Sr., sister Shannon Wetmore, grandfather Jack Combs, and grandma Peg Huffman.
Bert is survived by his life partner Amy Goings of Nemaha; mother Sandra and Wayne Hart of Brownville; grandmother Charlene Combs of Auburn; siblings Joshua Wetmore and Amanda Mason of Auburn; Jodie Jones and husband Jason of Peru; Tammie Hart and Matthew Dunn of Peru; Leslie Buris of Lincoln; Lashe Buris of Denver; Danielle Buris of Wisconsin; nieces and nephews Britnee, Bailee, Morgan, Hannah, Emma, Sierra, Caleb, Tayla, Charlie, JJ, Dalton; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Brownville Christian Church, officiated by Rev. Bob Chitwood. Special pre-recorded music was played. Honorary bearers were Edward Jarrett, Scott Koch, Jason Burow, Jason Jones, Brad Huffman, and Joshua Wetmore. Inurnment of ashes will be at a later date at the Nemaha Cemetery.
