Bert Wetmore, Sr., age 61 of Nemaha, passed away at his home in Nemaha on Sunday, August 31, 2008. He was born July 15, 1947 in Auburn, and was an army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife Donna of Wichita Falls, TX; children Bert Wetmore, Jr. and his friend Amy Goings of Nemaha, NE; Joshua A. Wetmore of Nemaha; Leslie D. Buris of Denver, CO; Lashae D. Buris of Denver; Danielle and husband Nathan Hunter of Denver; 5 grandchildren; mother Peggy Huffman of Auburn, NE; sisters Zoe Scribner of Arlington, TX; Nancy Durr of Nebraska City, NE; Jeanne Harris of Auburn; Sharon and husband Randy Striggow of Auburn; Shane and husband Bob Sailors of Brownville, NE; brother Brad Huffman of Nemaha; 10 brothers and sisters in Kansas; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, September 3, 2:00 p.m. at the Hemmingsen Funeral Home Chapel in Auburn. Burial of ashes will follow in the Nemaha Cemetery at Nemaha, with graveside military honors provided by American Legion Post #23 and VFW Post #2635 of Auburn. No visitation is planned.
