Barbara June (Burger) Moore was born March 16, 1939, in Auburn, Nebraska. She was one of three daughters of Arley and Amanda (Kehr) Burger. Barbara attended Auburn Public Schools and graduated from Auburn High School in 1957.
On October 18, 1958, Barbara was united in marriage to Eldon D. Moore in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn. They made their home in Auburn and were very helpful in raising three nephews.
After graduation from high school Barbara went to work in the insurance industry and continued that line of work until her retirement. During her many years in the business, she worked for various agents including Joe Genoa, Bob Engles, Rick Janssen, Ken Teten, and Jim Oestmann.
Barbara was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and loved to square dance with Eldon in their younger years. They belonged to a square dance club and visited different towns for dances
and liked to travel to national conventions when they could. She was an avid collector of “Boyd’s Bears” and ceramic dolls, and loved to decorate for holidays, especially Christmas. Barbara was also a huge Husker football fan and enjoyed watching the team on TV whenever she could.
Eldon passed away in September of 2019, but Barbara continued to live in their home in Auburn. She was admitted to the Nemaha County Hospital in Auburn on September 29, 2021. It was there she passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, at the age of 82 years, 6 months, and 15 days. In addition to her husband Eldon and her parents Arley and Amanda, Barbara was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Kurrelmeyer, sister-in-law Mary Ann Moore, and nephews Charles Bensley and Jim Bigley.

A funeral service will be Thursday, October 7, 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn. Burial will follow in Sheridan West Cemetery near Auburn. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 6:00 to 8:00.
