Alfred Charles “Charlie” Blankenship, age 87 was born September 23, 1935, in Peru Nebraska, son of Charlie and Erma (Allgood) Blankenship. He married Merril Standley December 18, 1954, in Auburn. One son, Larry Blankenship was born to this union. Charlie grew up and attended school in Peru.
Charlie was preceded in death by his Parents, his wife Merril, son Larry, grandson Charlie, sisters Neva Weisbrook , Lena Bennett, and Dela Blankenship. brothers Dale (Virginia), Leland (Mary), and Les (Betty), niece Cindy Blankenship, nephews Gary Blankenship, Bruce Blankenship, and Mike Blankenship.
Charlie is survived by nieces and nephews Al (Sandy) Blankenship, Waverly; Marge Blankenship, Kearney; Tammy Blankenship, Kearney; Deb (Brian) Craig, Omaha; Jeri Kay Weisbrook Wilson, Clarinda Ia; Tom (Becky) Bennett, Gillette Wy; Randy (Deb) Bennett, Lake Wa-Con-Da; Mary (Lee) Lynch, Auburn; Cathy Blankenship, Nebraska City; and Tim (Tamika) Standley, Auburn; granddaughters Misty, Tricia, and Kristi; and many great nieces, nephews and friends.
A private family graveside memorial and committal service will be at Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Peru.
