Agnes Marie (Hauber) Jones, one of three daughters of Anthony W. and Ann Marie (Delay) Hauber, was born July 13, 1931, at Kansas City, Missouri. Agnes grew up in Kansas City, where she attended school at Loretto Academy, graduating in 1949.
On October 4, 1958, Agnes was united in marriage to James A. Jones at Redemptorist Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Agnes and James moved to Auburn, Nebraska after their marriage, and then made their home on a farm south of Auburn. The couple was blessed with eight children.
Agnes was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, raising her children and taking care of the home.
On Saturday, January 23, 2021, Agnes passed away at the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn, having reached the age of 89 years, 6 months, and 10 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Daniel, husband James, sister Harriet Klug, and brother-in-law Charles Roberts.
Those left to mourn her passing include her children and their spouses Kevin Jones of Auburn and Roxanne Jones of Lincoln, Elmer Jones of Bellevue, David Jones of Auburn and Susan Jones of Auburn, John and Teresa Jones of Guam, Ann Jones of Auburn, Thomas and Jazmin Jones of Omaha, Joseph Jones of Omaha; grandchildren Brice (Kayla) Jones, Sarah (Alex) Gass, Jenny (Tab) Peterson, Keith (Amber) Jones, Chris (Christie) Jones, Kayla Jones, Joel (Tiffany) Jones, Sarah Jones, Gabriel (Fran) Jones, Megan Jones, Ethan Jones; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; sister Barbara Roberts of Newark, CA; other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Auburn, celebrated by Father Karl Millis. Sons Kevin, Elmer, David, John, Thomas, and Joseph served as casket bearers. Grandsons Joel, Brice, Keith, and Chris were honorary bearers. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery at Auburn.
